All hour Spanish courses will be held in the mornings, whereas the 60 and 48 hour electives will be held in the afternoons. Students can either take three hour modular courses and one elective, two hour modular courses and two electives, one hour modular course and three electives, or four electives during this program. All students must take at least one of the Health Care Electives listed below. She also enjoys teaching Spanish and English and has been involved as a tutor of children, youth and adults for 10 years. Thanks to her experience working with students and languages, she is very excited to be able to share and help students to adapt and learn from Costa Rican language and culture.
She also had the opportunity to intern Office of Cooperation at the Costa Rica Institute of Technology where she became passionate about student and cultural exchange programs. In she started working at ISA and because of her experiences all these years, she truly enjoys meeting and interacting with people from around the world. She likes sharing the history, traditions and food of Costa Rica and all beautiful places her home country has to offer. She has worked as volunteer in different national parks and in the municipality of San Ana's environmental department.
She also has worked in a travel agency, which has allowed her to interact with people from different cultures and ages; this experience helped her to improve her group management skills and learn why people really enjoy visiting Costa Rica. She also worked with ISA in and experienced the joy of the students learning about Costa Rica and creating a great friendship.
She loves to learn about different cultures and natural conservation practices in other countries. She also likes to read and spend time in nature with her daughter and help people who are in vulnerable situations in the country, such as the indigenous communities and children living in extreme poverty.

We strive to match your housing preferences with our available accommodations; however, housing preference requests cannot be guaranteed. ISA San Jose homestays allow students to experience aspects of Costa Rican or "tico" lifestyle that are inaccessible to the average visitor. All housing is located in middle to upper class neighborhoods near the Universidad Veritas and offers glimpses of everyday life with easy access to city amenities.
Homestays include breakfast and dinner every day except for excursion days and laundry service once a week. In your homestay you will have your own bedroom, although there may be another ISA student living in the same homestay. This will be a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a new place and live as a local would, so take advantage, immerse yourself in the "pura vida", and let yourself become a Tico! You may opt to secure housing independently. If you select this option, you will receive a discount equal to the housing portion of the program price.
